This was the original family business before we established the sign making company in 1985.

noun: A shoemaker.

Etymology
From Old French cordewan, from Spanish cordobán.
Originally, a cordwainer was a shoemaker who worked with cordovan, a supple leather made from goatskin. The leather was named after Cordoba, a city in south Spain famed for this soft leather.
